Day 7: Change of Tides

We recommend watching this video in full screen for the best experience.

Hurry up and wait

Most people can probably relate to the feeling of being stuck somewhere, waiting, at some point in life. Changes of Tides is a reflection of how it feels to be waiting for something to change, or something big to happen. In our case, Bethany wrote the lyrics about waiting for our “big break” so to say.

This song is more or less tongue in cheek in lyrical tone, but otherwise it’s the second “classic rock” style song we’ve written.

Verse:

Woke up this morning
Lost in confusion
Made my way outside
To look at the sky
(uh, this is so cliche)
Guess I’m still dreaming
Has time passed me by?
Stuck in the same place
Running this race

Chorus:

Wondering when it’ll be my turn
Dreaming of the day
(I’m ready)
Wondering when I’ll ever learn
Hey
Longing for the change of tides
Until then I’ll wait

Verse:

I know that someday
I’ll look back on this
Knowing I made it
Broke threw the mold
(uhhh, like all star?)

Chorus:

Wondering when it’ll be my turn
Dreaming of the day
(come on already!)
Wondering when I’ll ever learn
Hey
Longing for the change of tides
Until then I’ll wait

Slow Chorus:

When will it be my turn
(like, seriously)
Change of tides
When will it be my time
Change of tides

Chorus:

Wondering when it’ll be my turn
Dreaming of the day
(it’s okay, I can wait)
Wondering when I’ll ever learn
Hey
The change of tides
’till then I’ll wait

Ending:

Nah nah, it’ll happen. It’ll happen (laugh)
