Can you believe it’s been 5 years since we officially announced we were starting a band?!?

Thinking back over the last few years, it’s crazy to see how far we’ve come. Not just as a band, but on an individual level. Speaking for Trevor and Bethany, we can see how much we needed to learn and grow to do this calling. Many things we’ve had to let go, like worldly expectations, and many more to embrace, like doing this because it’s what we were made for, called to, and for no other reason. One thing we know for sure though; we’re going to keep going!

As we reflect back, we think about how we got started in the first place, how far we’ve come, and some of our favorite songs and videos to date. Here are the ones that come to mind:

For the Fight Music Video

There was some divine providence that this music video even happened. After getting only a few hours of sleep, dodging a torrential down-pour, and being generally under equip to make the kind of video we wanted, it turned out better than we hoped for and is still one of our best videos yet in terms of artistic execution. Fun fact: If you watch during the first chorus when Bethany sings the line “For the light”, there is a sun ray that breaks through the skyline at just that moment. Coincidence? We think not 😉

Superstition Re-Imagined Cover Song

When we set out to cover this song, Trevor knew he didn’t want to just cover it in a “heavier” style. He wanted to totally reinvent the song while still honoring the original, hooky riff and funky vibe. We went for a broken down, creepy sound that builds over the course of the song, and even though it’s been less popular than some of our other covers, it’s still the one we are the most proud of 2 years later.

Performing Live in Japan

Though we haven’t had the opportunity to do many shows (yet), we’re still beside ourselves that the first ever shows we did get to do were in our favorite place on earth: JAPAN! We’re forever grateful to our friends, Imaritones, for hosting and organizing this opportunity for us. Playing our music for brand new fans in a totally different country was an unreal experience, and we can’t wait to do it again soon. Here’s hoping we blow up in Japan one day.

Death & Resurrection Singles

With 2.5 years between us releasing any original music, we feel these new songs speak for themselves. They are full of passion, emotion, refined artistic vision, and paint the picture for our upcoming album, Anhedonia: Death & Resurrection, as a whole. We feel we’ve come into “our sound” as artists and we’re filled with anticipation to share everything we’ve been working on.

We’d love for you to hear this album as soon as possible, so please sign up for our Sapphire Newsletter to get a link to it as soon as it’s out (or maybe even before then *wink*). Otherwise relying on social media to tell you it’s out is like expecting your water to turn into wine: It might happen, but if Jesus isn’t at your party, it’s unlikely!
