The first song ever released by the band, My Affliction is considered the favorite SonS song, as voted by fans. Though nervous to share their first attempt at writing an original song, they were met with huge support from new fans near and far which came as a welcomed surprise.
My Affliction is a song about struggling with one’s own setbacks and fears and how it’s easy to fall back to negativity and doubt. Lyricist Bethany said she channeled a lot of her emotions from stepping out to pursue music, a new and scary endeavor to her, into this song. Emotionally driven and fueled, My Affliction is a cornerstone of Stands on Sapphires’ discography.
